Practitioners are waiting for Ministerial regulation and DSS directions in relation to how the ADM processes will work.
One might have expected some kind of action by now but as far as I can see there is very little to report.
A whirwind of stillness is keeping us on our toes.
Bar of Ireland
There’s a conference being organised for 28 April in Dublin which (somewhat ambitiously, in light of the present information vacuum) aims to “prepare practitioners for first contact” with the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 (as amended). It will be co-chaired by Hyland J. and the Director of the DSS and promises some vastly experienced speakers, so it’s well worth a look.

Law Society
The Law Society is organising a webinar on 20 April to “explore how the new framework will affect practice with a focus on Circuit Court applications and solicitors’ interaction with the Decision Support Service”.
